About Juneteenth<\/p>\n

Juneteenth, observed annually on June 19, commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States. Also known as Freedom Day, Jubilee Day, or Emancipation Day, the holiday marks June 19, 1865, when enslaved people in Texas learned of their freedom more than two years after President Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation.<\/p>\n
