This will cause disruptions to outdoor festivities, including the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/texas\/news\/fifa-world-cup-draw-group-stage-att-stadium\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">FIFA World Cup match at Dallas Stadium<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The front ignited storms along the Red River Valley this morning. More scattered storms are anticipated across the Metroplex in the late morning and afternoon.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>      <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/afternoon-061424.png#.png\" alt=\"afternoon-061424.png \" height=\"349\" width=\"620\" class=\" lazyload\"  loading=\"lazy\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The storms have led to disruptions for air travel. As of 2 p.m. Sunday, more than 600 flights into and out of DFW Airport were delayed and 173 were canceled.<\/p>\n<p>By the evening storms are likely to move southward, but it dependent on where the front stalls. The highest concern is gusty winds, frequent lightning and flooding.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Despite the storms, Sunday is going to be hot. Expect cloudy skies with breeze from the southwest eventually shifting from the northeast. The high will be 86 degrees with a heat index in the 90s for the metroplex.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, more scattered storms are expected in the morning and afternoon with activity moving south through the day. Conditions will clear by Monday evening.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Tuesday through Thursday there is a lull in activity, the sun will shine and temperatures will rise, eventually reaching into the upper 90s by Thursday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The holiday weekend will see more opportunities for rain.
