EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14\/CBS4) \u2014 A hit-and-run driver left a 58-year-old man seriously injured in Northeast El Paso, and Crime Stoppers of El Paso and the El Paso Police Department are asking the public to help identify the person responsible.<\/p>\n

The crash happened Sunday, March 1, around 2:29 a.m. after a man parked his truck in front of a home in the 4500 block of Hercules. As he got out of the truck, a gray vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed struck the 58-year-old man and fled, according to investigators.<\/p>\n

The victim was seriously injured and taken to a hospital.<\/p>\n

Witnesses reported the vehicle was last seen heading westbound on Hercules and crossing Dyer. Security cameras in the area captured the vehicle involved.<\/p>\n

El Paso police investigators said evidence at the scene indicates the vehicle that fled was a gray 2019 to 2025 Volkswagen Jetta. Police said the car is expected to have damage to the right front bumper and the passenger-side door mirror.<\/p>\n

Crime Stoppers of El Paso is assisting the El Paso Police Department through its Crime of the Week program. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 566-8477 (TIPS) or submit a tip online at www.cselpaso.org. Tipsters will remain anonymous, and information leading to an arrest may qualify for a cash reward.<\/p>\n
