The concierge team is attentive and the check-in process was downright pleasant. I sipped on a glass of sparkling champagne and chatted with the front desk while they quietly arranged the details of my stay. The Monarch\u2019s relaxation lounge adds ambiance to the experience with plush loungers, water, and tea, letting guests pause and absorb the benefits of their treatments. Spa and beauty products are sold on-site, convenient for visitors who left anything at home or want to level up their self-care collection.\u00a0<\/p>\n

After your treatment, I recommend taking a dip in the adjacent rooftop pool, drenched in Texan sun and surrounded by panoramic views of downtown San Antonio. With poolside drink and food service, it\u2019s easy to spend an afternoon here.\u00a0<\/p>\n

My thoughts after having a taste in each one? Monarch\u2019s menus truly deliver. These restaurants don\u2019t replace San Antonio\u2019s standout Tex-Mex eateries and fine dining institutions but make for a perfect counterpoint for guests who choose to eat on-site.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The star of the show is the Monarch\u2019s rooftop restaurant, an indoor-outdoor spot with downtown views from a 17-story vantage. Aleteo, which roughly translates to \u201cflutter\u201d in Spanish, features dishes like dry-aged duck and salsa flights, rooted in Yucat\u00e1n cuisine.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The $2 million public art installation houses over three miles of LED lighting, and at night, the sculpture emits a warm glow.<\/p>\n

We departed from the Million Air airport, cruised for thirty minutes over meandering lakes and forest, and received a warm greeting and glass of bubbles upon arrival. I\u2019m no stranger to Texan wine and felt their flights were some of the most exceptional in the region.\u00a0<\/p>\n
