ATI is designed to offer adult learners a seamless way to access workforce training. This one-stop shop includes personal success coaches who guide learners from start to finish. This enables the Alamo Colleges to close gaps between open jobs and residents open for hire.<\/p>\n
The launch of\u00a0ATI comes at a pivotal moment for workforce education. With federal Workforce Pell training grants on the horizon and employers across key industries facing persistent talent shortages, the demand for fast, affordable and career-aligned training has never been greater.<\/p>\n
Our board of trustees committed time and resources to this focus on workforce development. Too many learners, often struggling to make ends meet, turn to expensive for-profit providers for help. Our new gateway to workforce training aligns the knowledge learners need with what employers want through fast, affordable and trustworthy offerings.<\/p>\n
As\u00a0ATI grows, the Alamo Colleges could become the training center of Texas. In fact, our goal is to double workforce training capacity by 2030\u00a0\u2014 a vision made possible by the voter-approved $987 million capital bond. This bond will provide a multigenerational benefit through expanding facilities to scale high-demand programs.<\/p>\n

As we reflect on Clint\u00a0Kingsbery\u2019s final month as chair of the\u00a0 Alamo Colleges District board of trustees, note that numerous operational improvements were made during his tenure.<\/p>\n
We\u2019ve set new records, with almost 15,000 graduates and 90,000 learners enrolled. We won the Malcolm\u00a0Baldrige National Quality Award a second time. Our advising model is award-winning. The culmination of innovations, like ATI, has distinguished Alamo Colleges, and Bexar County, nationwide.<\/p>\n
Under\u00a0Kingsbery\u2019s guidance, Alamo Colleges celebrated many outcomes aligned with the board\u2019s shared vision and the operationalizing of charges he championed over the years. Having a board that never lets policy drift from the people it affects has made actualizations possible.<\/p>\n
Kingsbery\u2019s own initial struggles in college illustrate our advantage. After failing out of a four-year university twice, he enrolled at San Antonio College and found his footing. It led Kingsbery to a career in education. This is the story of our learners.<\/p>\n

San Antonio families are breaking generational cycles of poverty through higher education, with the Alamo Colleges central to change. Alamo Colleges has expanded access to higher education and bolstered student success through programs like\u00a0AlamoPROMISE\u00a0and by providing learners personalized advising with wraparound support.<\/p>\n
Now,\u00a0ATI is clearing financial and logistical barriers to expedited employment success.<\/p>\n
More individuals are seeking pathways that lead directly to jobs\u00a0\u2014 prioritizing speed, flexibility and return on investment over traditional four-year routes.<\/p>\n
ATI meets these forces, positioning the Alamo Colleges as the region\u2019s workforce engine and a national model for what comes next in higher education.<\/p>\n
