Happening NOW: We\u2019re under a flood watch until Wednesday, 7am. As we we watch and track rain and thunderstorms throughout the day. Most areas will pick up 2 to 3 inches of rain, but there could be some locally higher totals near 8 inches over the next couple of days.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m monitoring a low-pressure system moving through Mexico; it is expected to funnel deep, rich tropical moisture into the area. The low-pressure system currently has a 30% chance of developing into a tropical system, but regardless of development, it will still draw in tropical moisture into southeast Texas at least through the end of the week.<\/p>\n
A low chance for tropical development, but a high chance for tropical moisture to reach southeast Texas<\/p>\n
Monday through Wednesday the tropical moisture will combine with a slow-moving cold front. That will help bring waves of rain through the middle of the week.<\/p>\n
Slow moving front arrives early week10-day forecast:<\/p>\n
Rain and storm chances continue through the late week. By the weekend, southeast Texas dries out, but the heat and humidity will return swiftly.<\/p>\n
