El Paso County Commissioners approved a resolution on Monday to declare June 2026 as “Responsible Fatherhood Month.”<\/p>\n
The resolution came from County Judge Ricardo Samaniego. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe have a moral and economic duty to support our children and to promote positive outcomes for the youth through early intervention,\u201d said Samaniego. <\/p>\n
\u201c We as fathers, whether biological, a father figure, foster, or adoptive, deserve honor and gratitude. Father\u2019s Day is a time to honor fathers, thank them for their love and support, and the vital role they play in their children\u2019s lives,\u201d said Samaniego. <\/p>\n
The Pastor of Citizens Defending Freedom was at the meeting, Ed Luis Cabrera, and said a few words.<\/p>\n
\u201cStrong families and strong fathers help build a strong community and build strong families as well,” said Cabrera. <\/p>\n
\u201cResearch shows children are more likely to succeed when fathers are actively involved in their lives,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n
Several pastors of other churches and leaders of other organizations were at the meeting as well. <\/p>\n
