Kids met at the YWCA on Saturday for swimming, lunch, snowcones and other summer activities.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cGoing through a burn is a really hard injury, and it affects every aspect of your life and for these burn survivors to come out and be with other burn survivors is really relieving for them, and it\u2019s so great to see the younger burn survivors really connect with older burn survivors and see how life progresses after being burned,\u201d said Andrew Palomin, executive assistant for UMC Health System.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">One young burn survivor said he was grateful to participate in the day\u2019s events.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cI am excited cause well i get to be here because of my burn and i am grateful for being here and I appreciate it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The UMC Burn Center is largely supported by the Children\u2019s Miracle Network. The public can support CMN and the Burn Center during KCBD\u2019s annual telethon later this year.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 KCBD.
