A 15-building residential development is planned for 24101 Big Rivers Road in New Caney\u2014roughly a mile around the corner from Big Rivers Waterpark & Adventures, according to a recent filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. Known as The Crossing at Big Rivers, the project includes space for 342 residential units and additional amenities.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The filing details eleven residential buildings, all three stories tall. A one-story 7,400 square-foot clubhouse, 770 square-foot maintenance building and 199 square-foot cabana bring the total square footage to 125,740 square feet.\u00a0<\/p>\n
While details submitted to the TDLR are subject to change, crews could break ground in February, with construction lasting through late January 2029. Developers are betting big on the project, with an estimated $60 million cost.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Katy-based Investwell Architects is the listed design firm, with Jet Lending LLC as the owner. Jet Lending LLC did not immediately respond to Chron’s request for comment.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Big Rivers Waterpark & Adventures officially opened to the public in 2019. The attraction offers dozens of waterpark and fairground rides, ziplines, rock climbing walls, an inflatable obstacle course, axe throwing, a petting zoo, a playground and more, according to the website.<\/a><\/p>\n At its opening nearly seven years ago, Big Rivers was expected to generate approximately $10 million in annual income, according to company officials.\u00a0<\/p>\n
