As of 11 AM, this storm was moving northeast at 6 mph and producing 30 mph sustained winds. It is set to move into the Gulf late Tuesday or early Wednesday. Warm sea surface temperatures will likely support development, and this disturbance could become a short-lived tropical storm by early Wednesday. The first name on the Atlantic storm name list is Arthur.The storm will likely move parallel to the Texas coast until it moves back onshore in extreme east Texas or southwest Louisiana. A tropical storm watch was issued for parts of the Gulf Coast of Texas and Louisiana. It is forecast to weaken once it moves on land. This system poses no threat to Florida. Tropical ImpactsThe most impactful weather from this storm will be heavy rain in parts of Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi. Some communities could see 4-8&#8243; of rain, with some spots receiving around 12&#8243;. This will heighten the risk of flooding over the next several days. A tropical storm watch was issued for parts of the Gulf Coast of Texas and Louisiana. That generally means that tropical storm conditions are expected with in 48 hours.  In this case, tropical storm conditions are possible within the next 24 to 36 hours.
