(KPTV) &#8211; A manhunt is underway in southwest Oregon as authorities search for a Texas man accused of sex crimes involving a child, as well as stealing a car and weapons.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The Curry County Sheriff\u2019s Office said on Wednesday that there is a heavy police presence in the Agness area as they search for a wanted man identified as Kenneth Leatherwood of Bastrop, Texas.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\"Kenneth Leatherwood\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/2RVYADDC4BDXXPYV7XXZTODXTU.jpg\" width=\"980\" height=\"1306\" \/>Kenneth Leatherwood(Curry County Sheriff&#8217;s Office)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Leatherwood is accused of sex-related crimes involving a child. Investigators also say he is believed to have stolen a car and weapons.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Leatherwood is described as a man in his late 30s, 5\u203210\u2033 and 200 pounds with brown hair and green eyes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The suspect was last seen wearing an ivory t-shirt, blue jeans, and cowboy boots, and may have an Australian shepherd mix dog with him. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Community members are advised not to approach the suspect, as he is believed to be armed and possibly dangerous.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Anyone who sees Leatherwood is asked to contact the Sheriff\u2019s Office at 541-247-3242 option 9 or call 911.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 KPTV-KPDX.
