The person killed in Tuesday night’s private plane crash<\/a> on a Texas highway has been identified as millionaire tech mogul Joshua Baer<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Baer had become well known in Austin, TX, a buzzing tech hub where Google, Tesla and IBM are all headquartered. <\/p>\n

According to the Austin Business Journal, Joshua spearheaded efforts to secure a lucrative contract with the United States Army, which brought in billions of dollars for the state.<\/p>\n

The landmark deal with the US Army put Baer on the radar of Texas Senator Ted Cruz, who expressed his condolences on <\/a><\/p>\n

“Heidi and I are deeply saddened by the passing of Josh Baer and the tragic plane crash in Laredo.”<\/p>\n

“Josh has been one of the most significant figures driving innovation and entrepreneurship across America. In Texas, he made our state a global leader. His impact was incalculable. Our prayers are with his family and the others aboard the aircraft.” <\/p>\n

Texas Mayor Reacts to Plane Crash Involving Tech Mogul<\/p>\n

Baer died in a fiery plane crash that witnesses said “looked like part of a movie.”<\/p>\n

A\u00a0private plane crashed<\/a>\u00a0onto a Texas highway and into an oncoming vehicle Tuesday night,\u00a0shutting down traffic<\/a>\u00a0in both lanes.<\/p>\n

Six people were involved in the violent crash, which resulted in the aircraft becoming\u00a0engulfed in flames<\/a>. Video taken at the scene by Zayra Garza and verified by NBC News showed people running towards the wrecked aircraft.<\/p>\n

“It looked like part of a movie. I was in shock,” Garza told the Associated Press. “What was worrying me was the fire. I was concerned that it could have just\u00a0exploded<\/a>\u00a0at any time.”<\/p>\n

Baer is the only reported casualty in the tragic incident. All survivors were transported to a nearby hospital in stable condition.<\/p>\n

Laredo Mayor Dr. Victor Trevi\u00f1o issued a statement Wednesday morning, stating, “Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and loved ones affected by the recent private jet crash.”<\/p>\n
