\u00a0arrest of former Wylie East High School Assistant Principal<\/a> Zachary Neu on two second-degree felony charges.<\/p>\nAccording to affidavits obtained by WFAA from the Wylie Police Department, investigators began looking into 32-year-old Neu after a recent Wylie East graduate reported that he had sent her inappropriate messages shortly after graduation.<\/p>\n
A Wylie East coach contacted police after the 17-year-old graduate told him Neu had sent messages asking to meet up and suggesting they shower together, according to the affidavit. The student later told investigators that Neu followed her on Instagram after graduation and then moved their conversations to Snapchat.<\/p>\n
Investigators said the student allowed police to access her accounts and continue communicating with Neu while posing as her.<\/p>\n
According to the affidavit, Neu told the student she was his \u201cfavorite student\u201d and suggested they would need to \u201ckeep that a secret.\u201d After the student told him she was not yet 18, Neu allegedly responded that it did not change how he felt about her.<\/p>\n
Police said the conversations became increasingly sexual. Investigators wrote that Neu discussed meeting in person, asked about showering together, sent shirtless photos and talked about having sex with her. He also allegedly told her that his wife and young daughter would be out of town and invited her to spend the night at his house.<\/p>\n
According to the affidavit, Neu agreed to give the student $20 to buy lingerie and offered to purchase alcohol for her. Investigators said those actions formed the basis for the solicitation of prostitution charge involving a person younger than 18.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt this point, it appeared he was grooming her,\u201d an investigator wrote in the affidavit.<\/p>\n
A second affidavit outlines allegations involving another Wylie East student who is expected to be a senior next year.<\/p>\n
After Wylie police announced Neu\u2019s arrest, the student\u2019s mother contacted investigators, according to court records. The student told police Neu began messaging her on TikTok in March before the two started texting. She alleged the conversations became sexual, with Neu sending photos of himself in his underwear and the student sending photos of herself in a bra and panties.<\/p>\n
The student also told investigators she met Neu in May in the parking lot of an L.A. Fitness in Sachse, where she said he kissed her and grabbed her buttocks.<\/p>\n
Police said a review of Neu\u2019s cellphone data located TikTok and text messages that corroborated the student\u2019s account.<\/p>\n
Investigators concluded the evidence supported a charge of improper relationship between educator and student, a second-degree felony under Texas law.<\/p>\n
The U.S. Attorney’s Office from the Eastern District of Texas says a grand jury indictment charged him with two counts of enticement of a minor.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Shortly after Neu\u2019s arrest, Wylie ISD said in a statement that as soon as it became aware of the allegations, it notified Child Protective Services and the State Board for Educator Certification and fully cooperated with law enforcement<\/p>\n
