Council member Tim Raine was absent from the meeting.

What’s happening

The commercial development will include four buildings, according to the site plan filed with the city. The first building, which is 21,000 square feet, and the second, which is 31,830 square feet, will include retail and restaurant, flex-warehouse, office and flex spaces, per city documents.

The third and fourth buildings, both of which are 24,000 square feet, will house the Garages of America storage condominiums. What makes this unique is the other types of the facilities, inclusive of the new capacity that’s being put on Mustang [Drive], are fully bordered by commercial properties, not by homes.”

Mayor Bobby Lindamood spoke in favor of the project, highlighting the ability to get something developed on the property along SH 26.

“We got the opportunity to bring something that’s really special into the city,” Mayor Bobby Lindamood said. “When we denied the gas station, it sat there for years; nobody would even look at it because they thought they wouldn’t be able to work with us.”

One more thing

Garages of America operates several other facilities across North Texas, including in Plano, Frisco and Allen.

“>

A new luxury car storage facility is coming to Colleyville.
