Celestica, a global provider of data center infrastructure and advanced technology solutions, announced plans to significantly expand its operations at 2801 Telecom Parkway, committing to an estimated $300 million investment and the creation of nearly 2,300 new jobs over the next two years.

The expansion will increase Celestica’s footprint to approximately one million square feet, making it one of the largest advanced manufacturing operations in Richardson.

The project includes the renewal of leases for two existing buildings as well as a new lease for a 343,000-square-foot building currently under construction. The company will occupy the expanded campus through at least 2036.

A Major Vote Of Confidence In Richardson

City leaders say the project reinforces Richardson’s reputation as one of North Texas’ leading technology and advanced manufacturing hubs.

“Celestica’s decision to expand its long-term presence in Richardson speaks to the strength of our business climate, our skilled workforce and our ability to support advanced technology companies as they grow,” Richardson City Manager Don Magner said in a statement.

The expansion is expected to retain nearly 400 existing jobs while adding approximately 2,300 new permanent positions, significantly increasing the city’s advanced manufacturing workforce.

For Celestica, the move supports growing demand for advanced technology and data center infrastructure solutions.

“This expansion is a milestone in Celestica’s growth strategy, allowing us to scale our advanced technology and manufacturing capabilities,” said Yann Etienvre, chief operations officer for Celestica. “By building out a one-million-square-foot campus, we are leveraging Richardson’s tech-forward infrastructure and top-tier talent to fuel innovation and support our customers’ most complex needs.”

Building On Richardson’s Technology Legacy

Celestica relocated to Richardson in 2022 and has experienced rapid growth since establishing operations in the city. The expansion highlights many of the advantages that have helped Richardson remain a destination for technology companies, including access to a highly educated workforce, proximity to The University of Texas at Dallas, regional transportation infrastructure and strong connectivity throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

Richardson has long been recognized as one of North Texas’ technology centers, with major employers including Collins Aerospace, Raytheon, Texas Instruments, State Farm and 1Finity maintaining significant operations in the city.

Revitalizing A Former Corporate Campus

The expansion also represents another milestone in the transformation of the former Fujitsu campus at Telecom Parkway. Once home to Fujitsu’s North American operations, the campus is being repositioned to support a new generation of advanced manufacturing and technology companies. Fujitsu, now operating as 1Finity Americas, relocated its North American headquarters to Galatyn Commons in 2025, creating an opportunity for redevelopment at the Telecom Parkway site.

Celestica’s expansion demonstrates how Richardson continues adapting legacy corporate properties to meet evolving industry needs while attracting significant private investment.

City Supports Expansion Effort

To support the project, the Richardson City Council approved a $3 million tenant improvement grant tied to Celestica’s commitments related to long-term occupancy, capital investment and job creation. The city offers a variety of economic development incentives designed to encourage business investment, including building modernization grants, tenant improvement grants, permit fee waivers and job creation incentives.

Officials say projects like Celestica’s expansion strengthen Richardson’s tax base, create high-quality jobs and help ensure the city remains competitive in attracting technology-focused employers.

As North Texas continues experiencing rapid growth in advanced manufacturing and data center infrastructure, Celestica’s latest investment signals that Richardson remains a key player in the region’s innovation economy.

Don’t miss anything Local. Sign up for our free newsletter.

Richardson is landing another major win in its effort to attract advanced manufacturing and technology companies.
