{"id":343142,"date":"2026-06-19T17:43:20","date_gmt":"2026-06-19T17:43:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/343142\/"},"modified":"2026-06-19T17:43:20","modified_gmt":"2026-06-19T17:43:20","slug":"firefighter-fell-through-ceiling-while-fighting-blaze-in-the-attic-of-a-home-allen-fire-department-says","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/343142\/","title":{"rendered":"Firefighter fell through ceiling while fighting blaze in the attic of a home, Allen Fire Department says"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Firefighters in multiple North Texas cities battled house fires Friday morning, at least one of which was suspected to be sparked by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/texas\/news\/storms-entering-north-texas-friday-morning-with-strong-winds-and-flooding-possible\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">lightning<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In Allen, one firefighter suffered non-life-threatening injuries after he fell through the ceiling while battling flames in the attic of a home on Morrow Lane. No one else was injured in the fire.<\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson for the Allen Fire Department said the cause of the fire remains under investigation, but preliminary information indicates it was caused by a lightning strike.<\/p>\n<p>The Frisco Fire Department put out a fire at a large, two-story home on Possum Kingdom Drive. The home sustained extensive damage; video from the scene shows part of the roof had collapsed and second-story windows knocked out. Video from the scene showed smoke and flames coming from the the roof of a 19,000-square-foot, 91-year-old home.<\/p>\n<p>      <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/toc-06192026-house-fire-10-44-1923.jpg#.jpeg\" alt=\"toc-06192026-house-fire-10-44-1923.jpg \" height=\"349\" width=\"620\" class=\" lazyload\"  loading=\"lazy\"\/><\/p>\n<p>                  Firefighters battle a fire on Ash Bluff Lane in Dallas.<\/p>\n<p>                CBS News Texas<\/p>\n<p>A DFR spokesperson said they were dispatched to the home just after 9 a.m. The fire was mostly in the attic, but it eventually came through the roof despite firefighters&#8217; efforts. About 60-70 firefighters are on the scene.
