{"id":34377,"date":"2025-11-04T06:51:15","date_gmt":"2025-11-04T06:51:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/34377\/"},"modified":"2025-11-04T06:51:15","modified_gmt":"2025-11-04T06:51:15","slug":"the-neighbourhood-announces-2026-tour-starting-in-austin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/34377\/","title":{"rendered":"The Neighbourhood announces 2026 tour starting in Austin"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aclfestival.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Austin City Limits Music Festival<\/a>, one of the city\u2019s biggest annual events, now has a permanent home for at least the next 15 years.<\/p>\n<p>Austin-based concert promoter C3 Presents, which stages the two-weekend festival each fall, recently signed an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.documentcloud.org\/documents\/26197550-2025-acl-contract-c282677-pard-final-contract-template-redacted-copy\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">agreement<\/a> with the City of Austin that extends the event\u2019s use of Zilker Park until the end of 2040. Zilker has hosted ACL Fest since the inaugural festival in 2002.<\/p>\n<p>The agreement also sets an expectation that festival dates will continue to fall &#8220;on or about the first two weekends of October.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The 2024 edition of ACL Fest <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aclfestival.com\/community-impact\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">contributed $534.8 million to the Austin economy<\/a>. Since 2006, when C3 Presents started tracking the event\u2019s economic impact, it has generated more than $4.1 billion for the local economy.<\/p>\n<p>Also since 2006, ACL Fest has allocated nearly $71 million for improvements at Zilker and other Austin parks. Repairs at Zilker begin right after each festival\u2019s six-day run.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Parks Department is back in there and assessing any damage, doing any sort of restoration that needs to be done,\u201d Colin Wallis, CEO of the Austin Parks Foundation, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kut.org\/austin\/2025-05-07\/2024-austin-city-limits-music-festival-economic-impact-parks-texas\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">told KUT<\/a> before this year\u2019s festival. \u201cIf it\u2019s a really rainy year, you\u2019re likely going to have some turf replacement. If it\u2019s a really dry year, you\u2019re going to have a lot of watering.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The 2025 festival, held October 3-5 and 10-12, featured performers such as Sabrina Carpenter, Luke Combs, Hozier, Maren Morris, and The Killers. Dates for next year\u2019s festival haven\u2019t been announced.<\/p>\n<p>In October, a similar agreement <a href=\"https:\/\/www.formula1.com\/en\/latest\/article\/formula-1-announces-extension-of-the-united-states-grand-prix-through-2034.1Qxc1oXyrxaSVLKn2IPvRu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">cemented<\/a> the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix&#8217;s long-term status at the Circuit of The Americas (COTA).
