{"id":345279,"date":"2026-06-22T05:01:12","date_gmt":"2026-06-22T05:01:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/345279\/"},"modified":"2026-06-22T05:01:12","modified_gmt":"2026-06-22T05:01:12","slug":"millions-of-bees-escape-after-a-semi-carrying-hives-overturns-in-southeast-texas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/345279\/","title":{"rendered":"Millions of bees escape after a semi carrying hives overturns in Southeast Texas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | article-text\">MAURICEVILLE, Texas (KBTX) &#8211; An estimated 2 million bees escaped Sunday after an 18-wheeler hauling beehives overturned in a rural part of Southeast Texas. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Photos shared online by Christie Ray of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/queenbeesupplyllc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/queenbeesupplyllc\/\">Queen Bee Supply<\/a> show beekeepers and first responders working together to secure the area where the incident occurred. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Orange County Emergency Services District 4 shared posts on Facebook warning residents to stay indoors and said crews were working to remove the beehives from the wreckage and load them onto other transport vehicles.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">CBS affiliate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/KFDMNews\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/KFDMNews\">KFDM-TV in Beaumont<\/a> said one of its photographers was stung once while getting video from the scene. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Radio station <a href=\"https:\/\/kogt.com\/un-bee-lievable\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/kogt.com\/un-bee-lievable\/\">KOGT<\/a> said the truck was hauling 50,000 pounds of bees when the driver failed to negotiate a turn, but wasn\u2019t injured. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cWe appreciate everyone\u2019s patience and cooperation as crews work to safely resolve this incident,\u201d Orange County ESD #4 shared on Facebook.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 KBTX.
