EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14\/CBS4) \u2014 A late-night wastewater line break prompted an emergency response in east El Paso, but officials said drinking water remained safe and service was not disrupted.<\/p>\n
On Thursday at about 11:30 p.m., a wastewater spill occurred after a break in a wastewater line at 1335 Henry Brennan Drive that caused a sinkhole and power outages. <\/p>\n
Crews contained the spill within a nearby stormwater pond.<\/p>\n
El Paso Water officials said crews remained on-site working to repair the wastewater line.<\/p>\n

After repairs are completed, cleanup and disinfection will follow, officials said.<\/p>\n
No water or wastewater services were affected, and the public drinking water supply is not at risk.<\/p>\n
The spill also caused a power outage, which El Paso Electric officials said impacted 11 customers. The power outage was restored by 12:35 p.m.<\/p>\n
El Paso Electric officials said the sinkhole happened during trenching work in the area. <\/p>\n
