EA Sports’ smash-hit college football video game College Football 27<\/a> is set for release on July 9, and in preparation for the occasion the game dropped its full rankings for all 138 football teams in Division I.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Here’s a look at the rankings for our local colleges like Texas, Texas Tech and Texas A&M, ranked from best to worst, along with the full top 10 list below.<\/p>\n

Steve Sarkisian, Arch Manning and the Longhorns are one of only five teams with an offensive ranking in the 90s.<\/p>\n

Head coach and defensive guru Brent Venables has the Sooners’ D ranked at 88 overall.<\/p>\n

The defending Big 12 champions have the highest overall ranking in the conference entering 2026, thanks largely to that punishing defense.<\/p>\n

The game sees Mike\u00a0Elko’s Aggies as a well-balanced team with 86s across the board.<\/p>\n

Eric Morris takes over a Cowboys team ranked surprisingly high by CFB after winning just one game in 2025.<\/p>\n

Rhett Lashlee’s SMU team came back down to earth a bit in 2025 and draws a middle-of-the-pack CFB ranking. Still one of the best offenses in the game, though.<\/p>\n

TCU looks to get back into contention in the Big 12 in 2026, but, going by EA Sports’ rankings, it’ll be an uphill climb for Sonny Dykes’ Horned Frogs.<\/p>\n

Baylor enters 2026 with a rather meager 79 overall ranking. Weekend activity: Start a franchise file with the Bears and try to save Dave\u00a0Aranda’s job.<\/p>\n
