(KPTV) &#8211; A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kptv.com\/2026\/06\/23\/texas-man-wanted-child-sex-crimes-theft-arrested-sw-oregon\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.kptv.com\/2026\/06\/23\/texas-man-wanted-child-sex-crimes-theft-arrested-sw-oregon\/\">Texas man wanted for child sex crimes<\/a> was arrested in Curry County on Tuesday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The Curry County Sheriff\u2019s Office says Kenneth Leatherwood of Bastrop, Texas, was arrested with the help of Oregon State Police and U.S. Marshals just after 12:30 p.m.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\"Kenneth Leatherwood\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/1782294033_169_2RVYADDC4BDXXPYV7XXZTODXTU.jpg\" width=\"980\" height=\"1306\" \/>Kenneth Leatherwood(Curry County Sheriff&#8217;s Office)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Leatherwood, who is accused of sex-related crimes involving a child in Texas, was reportedly found camping in a heavy wooded area near Lucas Lodge in Agness.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Investigators say Leatherwood has been on the run from Curry County law enforcement since June 16 after reports that he had been seen with a stolen car in the Agness area.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Leatherwood was also believed to have stolen weapons with him.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">His dog was also found and returned to the suspect\u2019s family in good shape, according to the sheriff\u2019s office.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 KPTV-KPDX.
