Other affiliates listed include Natural Fountains Properties, Inc, Mystic Camps Family Partnership, Ltd and Mystic Camps Management, LLC. In filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, an entity typically proposes a reorganization plan so that it can stay afloat while paying off its debts, according to federal courts information.<\/p>\n<p>In the early dark hours of July 4,\u00a0flash flooding on the Guadalupe River near Hunt, Texas, overwhelmed the summer camp, flooding buildings and sweeping 25 girls and camp counselors Katherine Fuso and Chloe Childress into the violent waters.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"uiTextSmall f aic jcc\">Article continues below this ad<\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"FILE - Debris covers the area of Camp Mystic in Hunt, Texas, July 7, 2025, after a flash flood swept through the area. It also states the camp did not adequately prepare for the floods, despite storm warnings, and did not evacuate campers in advance of the flash floods.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In May, Camp Mystic&#8217;s chief health officer, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.houstonchronicle.com\/news\/houston-texas\/texas\/article\/camp-mystic-nursing-license-22270186.php\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Mary Liz\u00a0Eastland, who fled<\/a> from rising floodwaters without assisting most of the campers below, lost her nursing license. Her father, Dick Eastland, the camp&#8217;s director, died in the flood while trying to save campers.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"uiTextSmall f aic jcc\">Article continues below this ad<\/p>\n<p>In April, Camp Mystic <a href=\"https:\/\/www.houstonchronicle.com\/politics\/texas\/article\/camp-mystic-state-license-application-22176419.php\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">filed an application to reopen<\/a> for the summer. Then on April 30, the camp withdrew its operating license application for summer 2026 that it had filed with the Texas Department of State Health Services.<\/p>\n<p>The bankruptcy petitions were filed early Wednesday, according to online records.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The filing says the property may pose a threat to safety and needs to be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.houstonchronicle.com\/politics\/texas\/article\/dan-patrick-urges-health-agency-deny-camp-mystic-21921485.php\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">physically protected from weather events<\/a>. Eastland, Richard G. Eastland, Jr., George A.\u00a0Eastland and Edward S.
