A Texas<\/a> deer<\/a> seemingly embracing its \u201cemo<\/a> era\u201d is \u201ctotally fine,\u201d the Lago Vista Police Department has assured concerned residents.<\/p>\n

In a humorous Facebook post<\/a> on October 25, the department shared a video<\/a> of a deer with a hammock tangled in its antlers, noting it had received numerous calls about the animal\u2019s welfare.<\/p>\n

The clip was set to the viral emo-style rendition of Secondhand Serenade\u2019s 2008 hit, \u201cFall For You,\u201d for added flair.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile his \u2018forest-core fashion’ has raised some eyebrows, rest assured, he\u2019s totally fine,\u201d the department said. \u201dHe\u2019s eating, drinking, strutting around like he just dropped his debut album called \u2018Hammocks & Heartache,\u2019 and clearly thriving in his main-character moment!\u201d<\/p>\n

Police explained that male deer naturally shed their antlers before winter ends, so the \u201cemo-chic accessory\u201d should fall off on its own soon.<\/p>\n

They even amended the Facebook post to address \u201csome folks think we just looked at this deer and said, ‘Yep, seems fine.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe promise, we didn\u2019t get our wildlife degrees off YouTube,\u201d the police department wrote, crediting their partners at the Texas Parks & Wildlife, including a Game Warden and Wildlife Biologist, who advised them on the situation.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs difficult as it can be to see an animal with \u2018hardware disease\u2019 and want to help it, there are good, scientifically backed reasons why we do not get involved unless absolutely necessary,\u201d wildlife officials said in a statement.<\/p>\n

\u201cDarting animals in urban areas can be very high risk due to the number of people, roads, and houses, and the unpredictable nature of animal behavior.\u201d<\/p>\n

Many residents shared their gratitude for the reassurance that the emo animal is okay, with one even sharing her own photo of him eating apples and carrots.<\/p>\n

Others applauded whoever wrote the caption for the deer post. \u201cI want whoever made this post – post everything from now on!! Perfection,\u201d one person posted.<\/p>\n

Another wrote: \u201cWhoever wrote this is hilarious. And hopefully he will lose that hammock.\u201d<\/p>\n

One spectator even tried their hand at a fun write-up.<\/p>\n
