The search will continue this week after a tip failed to lead rescuers to her, ranch manager Vick Jones told NBC News<\/a> on Tuesday, June 23.<\/p>\n Gracie escaped roughly a week and a half ago, according to The New York Times<\/a>, though it\u2019s unclear when her disappearance was first reported to authorities.<\/p>\n Facebook \/ Traci Fant<\/p>\n Jones told the outlet that Gracie wandered off while feeding on a hillside, somewhere giraffes don\u2019t usually go, before slipping past an 8-foot-tall gate and into an unfenced part of the property.<\/p>\n Jones also revealed that Gracie isn\u2019t the ranch\u2019s first runaway, as several young male giraffes have slipped through an open gate before, though they eventually returned to the barn during a storm.<\/p>\n Online, plenty of people are stumped over how an animal of her size could go unnoticed. Female reticulated giraffes can grow up to 16 feet tall and weigh as much as 2,600 pounds, according to the Denver Zoo<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cHow the hell do you lose a giraffe?\u201d one user wrote in response to the missing giraffe Facebook post.<\/p>\n \u201cI just need to know\u2026.how?\u201d another commented.<\/p>\n One cheeky commenter offered a hilarious theory, \u201cProbably shopping\u2026. at Macy\u2019s.\u201d<\/p>\n Others wondered how rescuers even plan to catch her.<\/p>\n \u201cHow do you catch a giraffe?
