Reach Community<\/a>. Founder and executive director Alisa Sisemore said proceeds from fireworks sales go to support the organization\u2019s mission.<\/p>\n\u201cMy favorite line is that when you buy fireworks with us, it doesn\u2019t all go up in smoke,\u201d Sisemore said.<\/p>\n
Sisemore said Reach stands for \u201creaching every adult, child, and home,\u201d and described the group\u2019s mission as \u201cmeeting people right where they are through authentic, consistent relationship.\u201d<\/p>\n
Reach Community works through programs including Come to the Table, as well as camps and conferences, Sisemore said. She said the organization focuses on reaching middle schoolers and young adults, but that can extend to helping entire families.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut the whole thing about it is for us to listen to where each individual is. Where are you? What\u2019s happening?\u201d Sisemore said. \u201cAnd so when you come to that table, you have that opportunity.\u201d<\/p>\n
This year, fireworks in Texas are on sale through July 5 because of a new state law tied to celebrating America\u2019s 250th anniversary, according to the report. Sisemore said the fundraiser is also marking a milestone for Reach Community.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is our 10th year, by the way, our 10th year of doing this,\u201d Sisemore said.<\/p>\n
Sisemore said that over the past decade, support from the fireworks sales has helped change several lives, including one example of a student she gave.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou wouldn\u2019t have recognized him because he was so inward and so depressed and it was a pretty dark scene for him,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd as he came to the table, as he worked with us, and we worked with him and listened to him, if you had seen him at the end of the school year, his parents came to us and said, he\u2019s not the same kid.\u201d<\/p>\n
