{"id":349547,"date":"2026-06-25T05:40:22","date_gmt":"2026-06-25T05:40:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/349547\/"},"modified":"2026-06-25T05:40:22","modified_gmt":"2026-06-25T05:40:22","slug":"wanted-missing-giraffe-on-the-loose-in-texas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/349547\/","title":{"rendered":"Wanted: Missing giraffe on the loose in Texas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>People in Texas are being asked to be on the lookout for something unusual: a missing giraffe.<\/p>\n<p>Gracie escaped about two weeks ago from Cedar Hollow Ranch, which is located in Texas Hill Country west of San Antonio.  <\/p>\n<p>The Real County Animal Rescue-Shelter said Gracie was last seen on a game camera west of Leakey.<\/p>\n<p>Cedar Hollow Ranch manager Vic Jones told <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mysanantonio.com\/news\/local\/article\/gracie-giraffe-not-found-texas-22318572.php\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">MySA<\/a> that helicopters have been used in the search, but efforts have been complicated because they need permission to look on other ranchers\u2019 property.<\/p>\n<p>Jones believes Gracie is somewhere in the rough terrain surrounding Leakey. He told MySA that he&#8217;s seen images of Gracie on game cameras, and she appears healthy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s a lot of food out there for her to eat. There\u2019s plenty of water,\u201d Jones told MySA.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone with information is asked to contact Vic Jones at 830-279-5822 or the Real County Sheriff\u2019s Office at 830-232-5201.
