The available properties include two senior living sites.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">The waitlists officially reopened on June 30 and will remain open through July 6.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">Officials say applicants are not selected on a first-come, first-served basis. Instead, once the application period closes, a random lottery will be used to determine who is placed on each property\u2019s waitlist.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">The reopening marks the first time since 2023 that residents have been able to join waitlists for the participating public housing communities.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">Applicants can submit an application online by creating a profile through the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alliancehtx.org\/rent-cafe-access\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.alliancehtx.org\/rent-cafe-access\">Houston Housing Alliance\u2019s application portal<\/a>.
