According to the charging document, the alleged assault took place in October 2025. <\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson for the Houston Police Department (HPD) told Houston Public Media on Thursday that Diaz-Buscio is on administrative leave with pay. <\/p>\n<p>Sign up for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.houstonpublicmedia.org\/hellohouston\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Hello, Houston!<\/a> daily newsletter to get local reports like this delivered directly to your inbox.<\/p>\n<p>Diaz-Buscio\u2019s attorney, Mark Hochglaube, told Houston Public Media that his client was innocent and has been cooperating with the investigation. <\/p>\n<p>Aggravated assault of a child under 14 years of age is a first-degree felony punishable by up to life in prison and a fine up to $10,000. <\/p>\n<p>Diaz-Buscio has been released from jail on a $25,000 bond, according to jail records. <\/p>\n<p>His next hearing in the case is set for Oct. 18.<\/p>\n<p>In June 2025, Diaz-Buscio was arrested and charged with aggravated assault of a family member after allegedly pointing a gun at a relative during an argument.
