Arlington police say a 41-year-old man called 911 saying someone was shot, but that turned out not to be true, police say. <\/p>\n
ARLINGTON, Texas \u2014 Arlington police have arrested a man they said made a false report about a shooting.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Officers got the call at 11:20 p.m. Wednesday to a motel in the 3000 block of Abram St. with a guest saying someone had been shot.\u00a0<\/p>\n
When officers arrived, police say they found no evidence of a shooting or any crime occurred. They said they did talk to 41-year-old Oscar Vela Jr. who admitted to making the false report.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Vela Jr. has been charged with one count of False Report Inducing Emergency Response. Police said he also had other outstanding misdemeanor warrants and was booked on those as well.<\/p>\n
