The Gainesville product finished his high school career at IMG Academy in Bradenton before signing with Texas in the 2024 recruiting class despite a late push by Florida.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">As a true freshman, Gibson took advantage of injuries at the running back position to make an impact during non-conference play, scoring touchdowns against Colorado State, Michigan, and Louisiana-Monroe in addition to running for 75 yards on five carries in the win over UTSA.
