After two weeks evading authorities, Gracie the Giraffe has finally been found \u2014 and for real this time \u2014 according to Real County Sheriff Nathan T. Johnson.<\/p>\n

\u201cGracie the wondering [sic] Giraffe has been found!\u201d Johnson posted on Facebook<\/a> Friday morning.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe found her. She\u2019s fat and happy,\u201d Johnson separately told News 4 San Antonio<\/a>. \u201cWe\u2019re going to have to bring in a team and sedate her so we can move her. She had a catch-me-if-you-can-suckers attitude.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite being AWOL for two weeks, Gracie surprisingly hadn\u2019t ventured far from home.<\/p>\n

At 6:45 a.m. Friday, the manager of Cedar Hollow Ranch \u2014 the wild game reserve and breeder Gracie escaped from \u2014 located the animal on a neighboring property about 4 miles away.<\/p>\n

Ranch manager Vic Jones located Gracie with help from local company Concho Aviation, which deployed a helicopter to conduct aerial searches.<\/p>\n

Jones has contacted his veterinarian and is putting a team together to safely capture Gracie and bring her home, Johnson added.<\/p>\n

Cedar Hollow Ranch, which keeps hundreds of exotic animals, is located approximately 90 miles west of San Antonio.<\/p>\n

Normally, the rugged terrain that surrounds the property is enough of a deterrent for other giraffes, Jones previously told members of the press. However, Gracie was particularly prone to roaming, and found a way around a metal barrier on the property, which led to her escape exactly two weeks ago.<\/p>\n
