HARRIS COUNTY, Texas \u2013 More than two months after 24-year-old Kevon Clark was killed in a devastating hit-and-run crash on Interstate 45, his mother is making an emotional plea for the public\u2019s help in finding those responsible.<\/p>\n
According to the Harris County Sheriff\u2019s Office, the crash occurred on April 7th at 2:08 am in the 18700 block of the North Freeway in the southbound main lanes. Clark was in the number three lane of traffic when they were struck by an unknown vehicle traveling southbound. The impact threw Clark from the number three lane into the adjacent number four southbound lane. The driver of the vehicle did not stop and left the scene. Investigators say several additional vehicles also hit Clark, but none of the drivers stopped to render aid or call 911.<\/p>\n
For his mother, Felicia Clark, the tragedy is almost impossible to comprehend.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s so tragic,\u201d she said. \u201cI don\u2019t understand how someone could leave my baby out there like that. I just don\u2019t understand.\u201d<\/p>\n
Authorities have not said where Clark was coming from or where he was headed before the crash. More than two months later, no arrests have been made, leaving his family searching for answers.<\/p>\n
The injuries Clark suffered were so severe that his family was advised not to view him before his funeral.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey said it wasn\u2019t a good idea for me to see him,\u201d his mother recalled.<\/p>\n
The loss is especially heartbreaking because it is the second time Felicia Clark has lost a son in a hit-and-run crash. In 2023, her older son, Robert Jones, a postal worker and Kevon\u2019s older brother, was also killed in a hit-and-run. Clark says the two brothers shared a close bond, and Kevon looked up to his older sibling.<\/p>\n
Despite enduring unimaginable grief, Clark says her faith has helped her continue moving forward.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s very hard, and the only thing that keeps me going is by the grace of God,\u201d she said. \u201cI have my moments, I have my days, but I refuse to give up.\u201d<\/p>\n
Family members describe Kevon Clark as outgoing, compassionate and always willing to help others. He also leaves behind a 2-year-old daughter, whose future will now be shaped without her father.<\/p>\n
Now, Clark hopes someone who witnessed the crash or knows what happened will come forward.<\/p>\n
\u201cI hope someone has a heart and just comes forward and speaks up to give me and my son and my family peace,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
The Harris County Sheriff\u2019s Office continues to investigate the deadly hit-and-run. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Sheriff\u2019s Office or Crime Stoppers. Even the smallest detail could help investigators identify those responsible and bring long-awaited answers to Clark\u2019s family.<\/p>\n
