From Nov. 7-15, there will be celebrations and moments of remembrance as part of the 2025 Plano Flags of Honor tribute. <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Plano Flags of Honor<\/a> celebration will include three new additions this year, including a new flag display, a fallen heroes display and an inaugural 5k and fun run.<\/p>\n

The ninth annual event will continue to include the Safety Fair & Touch-a-Truck event, Fire Truck Pull challenge, Stars & Stripes and Vettes four Vets car shows, a flag retirement ceremony, educational presentations, live performances, food trucks and community booths.<\/p>\n

New this year are:<\/p>\n

Texan Medal of Honor Circle: A custom flag display honoring recipients of the Medal of Honor from the State of Texas, arranged in a circle around a central pole flying the U.S. and Texas flags, with plaques and QR codes to their official citations.
\nCollin County Fallen Hero Display: A tribute recognizing local men and women from Collin County who died in military service.
\n3rd Infantry Living Historians Encampment: Interactive demonstrations, historical artifacts and educational presentations that bring military history to life.
\nPatriot\u2019s 5K and Fun Run<\/a>: A family-friendly run through the park next to the flags in honor of those who serve and sacrifice.
\nPatriotic Chalk Walk: Artists of all ages and abilities are invited to create inspiring patriotic artwork on the parking lot next to the field.
\nColors of Courage Opening Ceremony: A new, expanded opening event featuring special speakers, musical performances, and ceremonial presentations, including a horseback presentation of the American flag by Stay in the Fight Veterans Foundation.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Plano Flags of Honor continues to grow each year \u2014 both in scope and in meaning,\u201d said Lisa Bloomer, event co-chair. \u201cWith new exhibits like the Texan Medal of Honor Circle and the Collin County Fallen Hero Display, our goal is to connect our community even more deeply to the stories of courage, sacrifice, and service that define our nation.\u201d<\/p>\n

The free events will take place from Nov. 7-15 at 2801 E Spring Creek Parkway.
