EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) – Two people are facing charges after deputies say they seized more than 200 fentanyl pills from a car parked outside a convenience store.<\/p>\n
The El Paso County Sheriff\u2019s Office announced the incident Sunday, which happened June 19 at the Loaf N\u2019 Jug at Galley Road and Hathaway Drive in Cimarron Hills.<\/p>\n
According to the sheriff\u2019s office, deputies responded to the business on reports of a suspicious vehicle.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe reporting party stated there were two individuals inside the vehicle who appeared to be impaired, and the vehicle had been there for approximately one hour,\u201d the sheriff\u2019s office said.<\/p>\n
When deputies got to the scene, the car was still running, and the man and woman inside were passed out.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe occupants were contacted and identified as 38-year-old Rudy Fuentes and 62-year-old Angela Vigil,\u201d the sheriff\u2019s office said. \u201cFuentes, the passenger, had an active warrant. He was removed from the vehicle and taken into custody. During a search of his person, deputies located drug paraphernalia. Vigil, the driver, was also removed from the vehicle. During a search of her person, deputies located fentanyl.\u201d<\/p>\n
After searching the car, EPSO says the deputies found 212 fentanyl pills, $2,300 in cash, and small Ziploc-style baggies.<\/p>\n
Fuentes and Vigil were booked into the El Paso County jail on multiple drug charges. Fuentes is facing charges of unlawful possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Vigil is facing those charges, as well additional charges of DUI and unlawful distribution, manufacture, dispensing, or sale of a controlled substance.<\/p>\n
Both have since bonded out.<\/p>\n
