PLANO \u2013 A woman has died after she was shot in a home near Rexburg on Sunday night.<\/p>\n

The Madison County Sheriff\u2019s Office has identified the woman as 49-year-old Lesa Perrenoud of Plano.<\/p>\n

Deputies were called around 5:30 p.m. to a home located at 4021 North 5725 East in Plano for a report of a shooting, according to the Madison County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n

When deputies arrived, they reportedly found a woman lying unconscious inside the home after being shot. She was later identified as Perrenoud.<\/p>\n

It is not yet clear where the gunshot wound was located.<\/p>\n

Deputies and emergency medical personnel began lifesaving efforts, and Perrenoud was transported by air ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, where she later died.<\/p>\n

The sheriff\u2019s office says it is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident. Deputies say there is no ongoing threat to the public.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Sheriff\u2019s Office extends its deepest condolences to Mrs. Perrenoud\u2019s family and loved ones during this difficult time,\u201d Sheriff Ron Ball said in a news release.<\/p>\n
