HOUSTON \u2013 When Patrina Marshall lost her mother, she wanted to honor her memory with a permanent memorial.<\/p>\n
Instead, she says she\u2019s been left grieving twice.<\/p>\n
According to her records, Patrina paid $5,455 to Headstone World for a memorial ledger to be placed at her mother\u2019s gravesite at Golden Gate Cemetery. <\/p>\n
While the company eventually delivered the memorial months after the purchase, Patrina says it arrived damaged. According to Patrina, Headstone World removed the damaged piece and never replaced it.<\/p>\n
Today, the memorial space where her mother\u2019s marker should be remains empty.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe don\u2019t know what is going on,\u201d Patrina said. \u201cWe just know that we are out over $5,000.\u201d<\/p>\n
The ongoing delays have taken an emotional toll.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s sadness. It\u2019s a little bit of anger,\u201d Patrina said.<\/p>\n
After months of unanswered questions, Patrina turned to 2 Helps You for help.<\/p>\n
2 Helps You reviewed her documentation and went directly to Headstone World seeking answers. The company\u2019s owner, Mai Le, declined an on-camera interview but acknowledged Patrina\u2019s case. <\/p>\n
Following 2 Helps You\u2019s visit, Patrina says the Le contacted her and promised a replacement memorial would be installed in two weeks.<\/p>\n
Patrina isn\u2019t convinced.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t believe her. I don\u2019t,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
She says the cemetery has not yet been contacted to complete the required preparation before a memorial can be installed.<\/p>\n
\u201cI asked her if she had even reached out to the cemetery to let them know they have to remark it and make it ready to place it,\u201d Patrina said. \u201cShe said, \u2018No, I haven\u2019t.\u2019 So I don\u2019t believe her.\u201d<\/p>\n
Patrina says she simply wants what she invested in, a proper memorial honoring her mother\u2019s life.<\/p>\n
