The body of a man who has been missing since Saturday when he jumped into\u00a0Benbrook Lake<\/a> to help a child was recovered Monday morning<\/a>, according to a statement from the Texas Parks & Wildlife department.<\/p>\n

His body was found by Texas Game Wardens from Tarrant County with assistance from the Fort Worth Fire Department and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Benbrook Lake is located about 17 miles southwest of Fort Worth.<\/p>\n

Crews, including underwater search and recovery teams, searched the lake for about eight hours Saturday and from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday. When the search renewed Monday morning, they found the man, the statement<\/a> said.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur thoughts and prayers are with the man\u2019s family and friends during this difficult time,\u201d the statement said. \u201cOut of respect for their wishes, we will not be releasing any identifying information.\u201d<\/p>\n

Officials responded to\u00a0the lake about 1 p.m. Saturday for a possible water fatality where witnesses told officials that two men had jumped from a boat to assist a child in the water.<\/p>\n

One went under water and did not resurface, the statement said.<\/p>\n

According to a statement from Texas Parks & Wildlife, the man\u2019s death was one of many water-related incidents Texas Game Wardens responded to across the state Saturday.<\/p>\n

The teen, who hasn’t been publicly identified, called out for help before disappearing beneath the water, police said.<\/p>\n
