President Trump confirmed Tuesday that the Republican Party will host an unusual \u201cmidterm convention\u201d <\/a>in Dallas on Sept. 9-10. <\/p>\n

The location and dates for the event, designed to drum up enthusiasm for GOP candidates ahead of the Nov. 3 election, were first reported by\u00a0Bloomberg News<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\u201cBIG NEWS! For the first time ever, the Republican Party will hold a MIDTERM CONVENTION. It will be in Dallas, Texas \u2014 One of my favorite places in the World,\u201d Trump wrote on Truth Social<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt will be fantastic! It has never been done before, and will be a truly Historic Event,\u201d the president continued. \u201cWe are going to celebrate the GREAT AMERICAN COMEBACK, and the incredible successes of the American People who transformed our Country through the America First Agenda \u2014 NO TAX ON TIPS, NO TAX ON OVERTIME, NO TAX ON SOCIAL SECURITY, STRONGER BORDERS, SAFEST EVER COMMUNITIES, LOWER COSTS AND REAL AFFORDABILITY, MORE JOBS, AMERICAN ENERGY DOMINANCE, AND SO MUCH MORE!\u201d<\/p>\n

Trump touted that \u201cOil Prices are dropping sharply, even as we Denuclearize Iran\u201d and argued his administration is \u201cdelivering on the promises that politicians talked about for decades, but never got done.\u201d<\/p>\n

The two-day convention \u2014 on a Tuesday and Wednesday \u2014 is shorter than conventions in presidential election years, which typically last for four days with a full week of associated events.<\/p>\n
