After acquiring a pair of players on Tuesday, the Dallas Cowboys<\/a> had some roster-trimming to do. <\/p>\n

The Cowboys traded for Jets defensive tackle Quinnen Williams<\/a> and Bengals linebacker Logan Wilson<\/a> on Tuesday, sending back defensive tackle Mazi Smith and future draft picks. <\/p>\n

With the extra spot on the roster the Cowboys announced that they\u2019re waiving backup running back Malik Davis. <\/p>\n

The veteran back was elevated from the practice squad for Monday night\u2019s game against the Cardinals<\/a> after the Cowboys announced rookie Jaydon Blue would be inactive. Davis got one carry for a three-yard rush vs. Arizona and also played on special teams. He\u2019ll be eligible to return to the Cowboys\u2019 practice squad should he clear waivers.<\/p>\n

Originally signed as an undrafted free agent in 2022, Davis is in his fourth season in the Cowboys organization. He\u2019s played in three games in 2025. He has 167 career rushing yards for the Cowboys.<\/p>\n
