From new details about a mysterious Italian steakhouse to a host of happy hour deals, here’s all the dining news you need to know in July.

Openings
More details are emerging on Ardēre Braceria Italiana, the new Italian concept from the restaurant group behind Chama Gaúcha and J-Prime Steakhouse. While the upcoming eatery has been mostly hush-hush, it has slowly been leaking a few teasers of the interior and fare via its newsletter and social media channels. One thing’s for sure: it won’t be Olive Garden. The decor renderings are in an autumnal palette, mixing in touches like ‘70s-style bucket chairs with Platner-style tables for a vibe that’s somewhere between Hollywood Regency and Dallas’ short-lived Playboy Club. Inexplicably, one mood board features a woman (in Bianca Jagger white) with a disco ball head. In other words, the place will be swanky, serving dishes like grilled octopus and burrata, when it opens in fall 2026.

The owners of San Antonio’s Wild Goji are enjoying a slow drip, too. After vaguely announcing their newest restaurant as part of a rollout of new tenants at new UTSA-area development The Merc, it filed Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation project details that gave it a name — Sora Sushi. It’s still unknown if the spot will offer the revolving nigiri of its sibling concept, but it does appear to have a proper dining room at 5,200 square feet.

After unexpectedly shuttering its original location, family favorite The Lighthouse Seafood is back at it in a new location at 3534 Fredericksburg Rd. The West Side haunt has been around since 2016, serving an affordable menu of fried platters, fish tacos, ceviche, and homestyle sides.

Taurino’s Mexican Restaurant is charging ahead with a third location at 11935 Culebra Rd., according to recent state filings. The Alamo City mini-chain is mostly known for Tex-Mex classics served alongside mariscos and parrilladas, but fans will have to wait a while to sink their fork into a cheesy enchilada plate. The 5,885-square-foot restaurant is a new build that is not expected to finish until October 2027.

Jue Let’s signature Chex Mix is included in the happy hour menu.Photo courtesy of Jue Let.

Other news and notes
A pair of new San Antonio happy hours are helping ease the pain of summer CPS costs. First, Pearl showpiece Jue Let has introduced its In This Economy happy hour with $5 specials including draft beer, wine, cocktails such as espresso martinis and ranch waters, and snacks like deviled tea eggs and French onion dip. The deals are available Monday through Friday, 4-6 pm. On July 2, the bar is also bringing in legendary New York DJ Neil Armstrong to spin with Donnie Dee. He’s a pretty big deal with gigs that range from Jay Z collabs to President Obama’s inauguration. Sure, he’s also a Knicks fan, but at least he isn’t opposed to posting the occasional Wemby meme.

Meanwhile, downtown, the Hyatt Regency San Antonio Riverwalk has launched its own budget-friendly social at Q Kitchen|Bar. Available from 2-4 pm on weekdays (c’mon, playing hooky), the happy hour offers $7 beers, $8 wine pours, and deals on bar snacks like queso blanco, quesadillas, and chips and salsa.

Want to stretch your dollar even further? All locations of La Panadería are offering free Wednesday kids meals through August 12. With the purchase of an adult entrée, whippersnappers can munch on their choice of croissant sandwich (ham, Swiss, and egg or just ham and Swiss). The promo allows for two transactions per guest, so take heed, cool guncles.

As San Antonio’s canine population braces for the annual July Fourth Armageddon, San Antonio’s restaurant scene is shooting…

[8
4262,993,2259,20638,2809,423,742,82,84,83,14148,43831,5464,3090,5067
post-357373","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-san-antonio","tag-bars","tag-downtown","tag-happy-hours","tag-italian","tag-news-you-can-eat","tag-openings","tag-pearl","tag-san-antonio","tag-san-antonio-headlines","tag-san-antonio-news","tag-seafood","tag-steaks","tag-sushi","tag-tex-mex","tag-the-merc
["GET
