Texas Rangers Top 30 Prospect Additions

14. Daniel Rodriguez, SS

BA Grade: 50/High

Track Record: Rodriguez signed with the Rangers in 2025 out of Venezuela and posted a nondescript pro debut in the Dominican Summer League. Since moving stateside, he has been one of the best players in the Arizona Complex League and has boosted his stoc k significantly.

Scouting Report: Rodriguez has a well-rounded set of tools that should allow him to make an impact in all facets of the game. He has a simple righthanded swing that gives him a chance to hit for both average and power and a decent shot to stick at shortstop thanks to an athletic frame that allows him to move lithely around the diamond. He combines tools, skills and savvy into one of the system’s biggest pop-up prospects.

The Future: Rodriguez should reach Low-A Hickory at some point this summer, when he’ll get his first test against the kind of advanced pitching rarely seen on the backfields. He has the upside of an everyday shortstop.

Scouting Grades: Hit: 50 | Power: 45 | Run: 50 | Fielding: 55 | Arm: 55.

23. Hector Osorio, OF

BA Grade: 45/High

Track Record: Osorio signed with the Rangers in 2022 and spent the first three seasons of his career at the lowest levels of the minor leagues, including back-to-back years in the Dominican Summer League. He’s gotten stronger as he’s matured and is on a faster track now, having reached High-A Hub City.

Scouting Report: Osorio doesn’t have a plus tool on his card, but he also doesn’t have a glaring weakness. His strength gains have led to higher top-end exit velocities, and the 16 home runs he swatted this season through 72 games are 10 more than the total he’d amassed entering the year. He has a chance to stick in center field for now but might have to move over to a corner as he matures. His above-average arm would fit fine in right field, but the power gains would have to hold up in order for him to profile at the position.

The Future: Osorio has gotten stronger and gained a better command of the strike zone. If those changes stick with him as he moves up the ladder, he has a chance to be a second-division regular or a backup on a championship club.

Scouting Grades: Hit: 50 | Power: 45 | Run: 45 | Fielding: 50 | Arm: 55.

25. Marco Argudin, OF

BA Grade: 45/High

Track Record: Argudin signed with Texas in February 2025 at 19 years old and put forth a solid season in the Dominican Summer League. He moved stateside in 2026 and has produced well in the Arizona Complex League and at Low-A Hickory.

Scouting Report: Argudin has a solid if unspectacular set of skills. He hits the ball hard enough and rarely misses pitches in the zone, but he’ll need to find the barrel much more often if he is to get the most out of his tool set. Scouts see an average defender with plus arm strength and above-average speed. If he can stick in center field, his stock will rise considerably. If not, his arm will play in right field but his power will have to show up more often.

The Future: Argudin’s age gives him a chance to move quicker than most international players in the first years of their career. He has the look of a second-division outfielder who provides a hint of value on both sides of the ball.

Scouting Grades: Hit: 45 | Power: 40 | Run: 55 | Fielding: 50 | Arm: 60.

Texas Rangers Prospect Graduates

None.

Texas Rangers Prospect Risers

Malcolm Moore, C: Moore has slowly started to turn things around after a rocky start to his pro career. Swing changes have helped him get on time more often, which has resulted in offensive production more in line with what the Rangers hoped they’d get when they drafted him in the first round in 2024.

Texas Rangers Prospect Fallers

Emiliano Teodo, RHP: Teodo still throws as hard as they come, but he also struggles to find the strike zone. Through June 26, he’d walked 29 hitters in 35.1 innings at Triple-A Round Rock. That mark needs to improve if he is to reach the big leagues.

Maxton Martin, OF: Martin was coveted for his premier raw power. So far, that thump hasn’t translated into game action. He has struggled to hit at all at High-A, and offensive production is the key to nearly all his big league value.

Anthony Gutierrez, OF: Gutierrez shows skills when he’s on the field, but he’s out for the season while recovering from a knee injury suffered on Opening Day.

Texas Rangers Prospect Injuries

Shortstop Sebastian Walcott is nearing a return to play after recovering from internal brace surgery on his right elbow. He is moving through his rehab progression and is expected to get back into games sometime later in the summer.

Righthander Caden Scarborough has finished rehabbing from the procedure he had to remove a malignant melanoma and is full-go in the rotation at High-A Hub City.

Righthander Izack Tiger has returned from Tommy John surgery. He made a series of rehab appearances in the Arizona Complex League before landing with High-A Hub City.

Righthander Jacob Johnson is dealing with a balky shoulder in the Arizona Complex League.

Righthander Leandro Lopez landed on the injured list on May 27 with Double-A Frisco due to right shoulder fatigue.

Outfielder Paxton Kling has a fractured right wrist and was placed on the injured list on June 16.

With the calendar flipped to July, Baseball America is back with our latest significant in-season update to Top…

[6
27,29,28
post-357483","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-texas","tag-texas","tag-texas-headlines","tag-texas-news
["GET
