The three candidates in the Tarrant County state senate race raised about $3 million, campaign finance reports show.<\/p>\n

TARRANT COUNTY, Texas \u2014 Voters weighed in Nov. 4 to decide who will replace former state Sen. Kelly Hancock in District 9 in Tarrant County. The three candidates raised about $3 million in campaign contributions<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The seat was vacated after Hancock<\/a> accepted an appointment as interim Texas comptroller — a job he’s running to keep permanently.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The candidates include Republican John Huffman, former mayor of Southlake, and Republican Leigh Wambsganss, the chief communications officer for Patriot Mobile, which provides wireless service and has a political action committee that is known for\u00a0supporting conservative candidates<\/a> in Texas, and Democrat Taylor Rehmet, an Air Force veteran and union organizer.<\/p>\n

Wambsganss, who touted endorsements from President Donald Trump, Sen. Ted Cruz and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, led in fundraising, having raised a little more than $1.6 million from July 1 to Oct. 25 according to campaign finance reports, followed by Huffman, who reported raising \u00a0$1.35 million since July, and Rehmet, who reported raising \u00a0$127,000 from July 1 to Oct. 25.<\/p>\n

Unofficial results showed Rehmet leading Wambsganss and Huffman with 44.12% of the vote as of 7:51 p.m.<\/p>\n
