The Lubbock businessman and co-founder of Ferrum Capital is under federal indictment along with Michael Cox for securities fraud and other charges.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Allen <a href=\"https:\/\/lubbocklights.com\/no-plea-deal-and-none-expected-in-ferrum-case-as-allen-seeks-delay-and-prosecutors-balk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">asked for a continuance<\/a> (delay) in June to push back his August 10 trial date. Get our free weekly newsletter and see stories you won\u2019t get anywhere else.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Allen\u2019s attorney, Anthony Box, filed a status update with the court on the same day.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Box confirmed what federal prosectors had previously said in their status update \u2013 writing, \u201cCurrently, there are no plea negotiations taking place.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cEarly in this matter, counsel for the government and counsel for Mr. Allen discussed the government\u2019s requirements for a plea deal,\u201d Box wrote.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But nothing came of it and Box also wrote, \u201cMr. Allen would like to exercise his constitutional rights at trial.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Allen and Cox are accused of using Ferrum as a Ponzi scheme in lawsuits filed against them. Criminal court records claimed the company took $67 million from hundreds of victims \u2013 often in the Lubbock or San Antonio areas.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Their San Antonio business affiliate, Brooklynn Chandler Willy, <a href=\"https:\/\/lubbocklights.com\/ferrum-affiliate-willy-pleads-guilty-to-ten-federal-charges-in-san-antonio-joshua-allen-michael-cox-still-awaiting-trial\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">accepted a plea deal this year<\/a> for wire fraud, aggravated identity theft, conspiracy to commit wire fraud and conspiracy to commit money laundering.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She\u2019s scheduled to be sentenced in September.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tRelated\n<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/lubbocklights.com\/please-press-the-button-and-become-a-lubbock-lights-supporter\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"96\" height=\"96\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/volunteer_activism_96dp_000000_FILL0_wght400_GRAD0_opsz48.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11787\" style=\"width:80px\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Related posts\t<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Joshua Allen cannot push back his trial date for securities fraud, a federal judge ordered.
