The sophomore held a 6.75 ERA with an opposing batting average of .333 and seven strikeouts.

The righty saw his role decrease from his freshman season, in which he made 14 appearances with five starts. In his first year with the program, Flores held a 2.78 ERA in 32.1 innings pitched, with 27 strikeouts and a .205 opposing batting average.

Bing made six appearances with one start for the Longhorns pitching staff, tossing nine innings. The lefty held a 6.00 ERA to go along with four strikeouts and a .226 opposing batting average.

The junior also saw a smaller role in the Texas pitching staff compared to his sophomore season in 2025. During that season, Bing made 12 appearances with 10 starts and pitched 40 innings. The southpaw held a 3.15 ERA with 23 strikeouts and a .216 opposing batting average.

The Longhorns are also taking a big hit at the catcher position with junior catcher Carson Tinney likely headed off to the MLB Draft. Texas not only loses its starter in Tinney but also loses depth with a pair of catchers headed to the transfer portal.

Junior catcher Andrew Ermis was an addition out of the transfer portal from Temple College a year ago and found a way to contribute for Texas, playing in 14 games with seven starts. The Longhorns’ primary backup catcher recorded a .353 batting average with six hits and five RBIs.

Freshman catcher Presley Courville is the other catcher that the Longhorns are set to lose for the 2027 season. The first-year backstop played in 16 games with four starts. Courville held a .250 batting average with 24 at-bats, recording six hits and a pair of RBIs.

Also headed out is junior outfielder Ashton Larson, who was an incoming transfer ahead of the 2026 season and became one of the biggest contributors this season, playing in 56 of the 61 games of the season while making 46 starts. The outfielder stepped up at first base for much of the year and ended the season with a .258 batting average, a home run and 16 RBIs.

Sophomore infielder Callum Early was a new face on the Forty Acres as an incoming transfer, but didn’t quite find a role in 2026. Early saw minimal playing time, making 11 appearances and recording five at-bats.

Texas loses depth in the outfield and a member of its 2025 freshman class in freshman outfielder Maddox Monsour, who contributed in his first and only season in Austin. The freshman made 36 appearances with 14 starts and recorded a .185 batting average with a home run, 10 RBIs and seven stolen bases.

Texas loses more members of the 2025 class as freshman outfielder Will Hill and a trio of freshman pitchers in Jadyn Furgason, Cooper Rummel and Grady Westphal are all headed out of the program after redshirting in 2026.

With the Longhorns losing several players to the transfer portal, Texas now has space on its roster to utilize the portal in its favor to add players ahead of the 2027 season.

Texas baseball’s 2026 season ended just over two weeks ago at the College World Series.
