For National Parks and Recreation Month, Plano P&R is hosting activities all July long.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Parks and Recreation Month<\/a> is upon us, and Plano Parks and Recreation<\/a> are celebrating with programming all month long.<\/p>\n

First, there\u2019s Walk Around Plano, where Rec members are encouraged to count the miles they walk or exercise during July at Carpenter Park Recreation Center. Participants are aiming to document 72 miles on their provided map before the end of the month to win a Walk Around Plano t-shirt.<\/p>\n

Throughout the month<\/a>, there are splash times for toddlers, nature hikes for all ages, open plays, swim days and other free activities.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn recognition of National Parks and Recreation Month, we invite everyone to tap into the power of Parks and Recreation during the month of July,\u201d Director of Plano Parks and Recreation Ron Smith said. \u201cDuring Park and Recreation Month, we celebrate the broad and impactful reach of parks, trails and recreational opportunities in all their variety, and champion the role these services play in powering personnel well-being, environmental stewardship and community connections.
