Applications are now open for the Fall 2026 session of Arlington Water Utilities University, a residents academy hosted by the City of Arlington\u2019s award-winning water department, Arlington Water Utilities. Arlington residents can apply online through Friday, July 31.\u00a0Selected participants will be contacted by mid-August<\/p>\n

Register for Arlington Water Utilities University<\/a><\/p>\n

Classes will be held from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesdays at various locations in Arlington. Class dates are tentatively set for Sept. 2, Sept. 23, Oct. 7, Oct. 21 and Nov. 4. Participants will also be recognized with a graduation certificate and reception on Tuesday, Nov. 17.<\/p>\n

Some of the activities planned include:<\/p>\n


\nGuided tours of Arlington Water Utilities facilities like the Pierce Burch Water Treatment Plant and John F. Kubala Water Treatment Plant.
\nOpportunities to get to know water department leadership and frontline staff members.
\nInteractive activities to learn more about the challenges and rewards of working in the water\/wastewater industry. <\/p>\n

Nearly 70 residents have participated in Arlington Water Utilities University since it started in March 2025. Participants complete surveys after classes conclude, with many saying they have a new understanding of Arlington’s water story.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“This was such an informative and fun experience! It is crazy to think about all that goes into the simple act of turning on a faucet and having clean water come out,” an Arlington Water Utilities University graduate said. “It makes me feel thankful to live in a city that cares so much about its citizens and the quality of our water.<\/p>\n
