According to Fort Worth police, the shooting took place after an argument between the two men over a woman.<\/p>\n
FORT WORTH, Texas \u2014 One person is dead and another is hospitalized after a gunfight between the two on the Fourth of July near Lake Arlington, Fort Worth police said.<\/p>\n
According to the Fort Worth Police Department, officers were called at about 8:18 p.m. to the shooting in the 5900 block of Wilbarger Street.<\/p>\n
There was a large gathering at the location, police said, where the two men were reportedly arguing over a woman when they both pulled out guns and shot each other.<\/p>\n
The two men involved were the only people shot, police said. One was pronounced dead on the scene, while the other was taken to a local hospital. His condition isn’t currently known.<\/p>\n
Neither of the men have been identified as of Saturday night. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner will identify the man killed once next of kin has been notified.<\/p>\n
Police say they believe the shooting was an isolated event between people known to each other.<\/p>\n
One man, named A.D., told WFAA he was at the event, which he said was a fighting event. He said a fight had broken outside of the cage and gunfire went off shortly afterward, causing everyone in attendance to scramble.<\/p>\n
