CHANNELVIEW, Texas \u2013 A Houston man accused of abandoning a puppy in a locked container in Channelview has been arrested after being sought for months, according to the Harris County Precinct 1 Constable\u2019s Office<\/a>.<\/p>\n Deontwon Marquise Perry Jr., 21, is charged with misdemeanor cruelty to animals. Investigators say the case stems from an incident in January, when a passerby found a blue trunk left in a field and heard a puppy whimpering inside.<\/p>\n The dog, an approximately 11-month-old German Shepherd mix later named Buster, was rescued and taken to the Houston SPCA for evaluation and care, officials said.<\/p>\n \u201cThis was cruel. This was a crime.
