H-E-B is expanding its network in one of Texas\u2019 fastest-growing areas, according to multiple reports.<\/p>\n
The San Antonio-based retailer plans to open future stores along parts of Interstate 35 and in the Hill Country, with locations marked for San Marcos, Dripping Springs and Buda.<\/p>\n
H-E-B purchased 44 acres at I-35 and Yarrington Road in San Marcos across from a Buc-ee\u2019s travel center that will open in the coming weeks. The store could reach 118,000 square feet with more than 1,000 parking spaces.<\/p>\n
A third San Marcos store at I-35 and McCarty Lane is already under construction and will span 114,000 square feet when it opens in the fall. It will include the city\u2019s first True Texas BBQ restaurant along with a fuel station, car wash and H-E-B Fresh Bites convenience store. H-E-B also operates stores on West Hopkins Street and East Hopkins Street.<\/p>\n
However, the retailer told the San Antonio Express-News the Yarrington Road spot has not been officially claimed for an H-E-B store. The grocer creates site plans for all purchased property to ensure a future location is feasible.<\/p>\n
