ADDISON, Texas \u2014 On Friday afternoon, the city of Addison set the stage for America 250.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis isn\u2019t just any year, it\u2019s a milestone birthday for America turning 250, so we wanted to bring everything up, we wanted to elevate the experience here,\u201d said Faith Alford.<\/p>\n
Alford, a spokesperson with the City of Addison, said half a million people were expected to watch across the city, which is only about 4.4 square miles, including some first-time attendees.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re so lucky that the match is happening earlier in the day, so our international fans have a chance to experience Addison Kaboom town,\u201d said Alford.<\/p>\n
Sizzling up a taste of America, Christian Hernandez, a vendor, was hoping to wow international visitors.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have the best corn dogs around, we have the best fried foods around, the best everything around,\u201d said Hernandez.<\/p>\n
If the food doesn\u2019t do the trick, he hopes Kaboom Town will.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think they\u2019re going to find it amazing, you know the whole fireworks show, the airplanes, everything they\u2019re gonna wanna come back for the Fourth of July, the third of July every single year,\u201d said Hernandez.<\/p>\n
That\u2019s what Alford hopes too: that everyone, Texan or not, will go home with an America 250 to remember.<\/p>\n
